A must-visit place for those who design performance venues is the large festival hall.

Introducing the festival hall at the Salzburg Festival in Austria, where world-class classical festivals unfold.

It is a performance hall created by remodeling a royal stable. Designed by architect Clemens Holzmeister, it is the largest performance hall in the world. The seating capacity is 2,179, and it has a square shape of approximately 35 meters.

To turn this place into a performance hall, a part of the Monchsberg mountain, composed of rocks, was excavated, creating an enormous theater facility and backstage area.

The upper part of the stage machinery has 155 hoists, each with a capacity of 500kg. The stage curtain is made of iron and weighs an astonishing 34 tons. The stage floor has four hydraulic lifts that can lift up to 20 tons.

Stage lighting includes over 2000 fixtures and more than 825 circuits, each with a capacity of over 5kW. There is also a storage room capable of holding all this equipment.

The stage sound system features a large console capable of handling 192 channels.
