A must-visit place for those involved in designing performance venues is the Felsenreitschule.

Introducing the Felsenreitschule Performance Hall at the world-renowned Salzburg Festival.

This venue, originally built in 1693 as a riding school and animal hunting arena, was first transformed into an innovative performance space by Austrian theater and film director Max Reinhardt in 1962. It wasn't until the late 1960s that it became a fully-equipped performance hall with an openable rolling stage roof, orchestra pit, and sub-stage.

The theater has 1,412 seats, and the stage, set against a backdrop of 96 arches, measures 40 meters in width, with a sub-stage space of about 4 meters. The roof was renovated in 2011, improving hoisting, soundproofing, and insulation, with an opening and closing time of approximately 6 minutes.
