Vienna State Opera House #2
As you enter, you'll be amazed by the grandeur of the opera house. Next, you'll notice a treasure-like cultural heritage in the form of safety curtains. The overall color is golden, and it's so majestic that it might leave you in awe. Since 1998, the safety curtains have been utilized as a space for modern art exhibitions.
The stage, while bearing the marks of time, seamlessly blends with modern stage systems.
In the center of the auditorium ceiling, there is a dome-shaped structure with dazzling lighting. The central ceiling lighting, which was changed to crystal for safety reasons, is composed of 1,100 bulbs. It has a diameter of 7 meters and a height of 5 meters, weighing approximately 3 tons.
For architectural acoustic reasons, you can see the proscenium side walls covered with wood instead of concrete.
Originally, there were 2,881 seats, but after the reconstruction, it was reduced to approximately 2,282 seats, consisting of 1,709 regular seats, 567 standing seats, 4 disabled seats, and 4 companion seats.
During the New Year, they cover all the seats with a dance floor at stage level, turning both the stage and seats into a ballroom.
The orchestra pit area is approximately 123 square meters and can accommodate 110 musicians. When there are fewer musicians, the floor height can be adjusted for use as a front stage.
